Justin Eckenrode, D.V.M, M.S

Dr. Justin Eckenrode has come full circle in his journey to become a veterinarian. He is a 1999 graduate of Carlisle High School before attending Penn State University receiving his BS degree in Animal Bioscience in 2003. Justin then began work at the Carlisle Small Animal Veterinary Clinic in the summer of 2003 as a veterinary assistant. During his time at the clinic, he attended Shippensburg University for his MS degree in Biology. After graduation in 2006 Justin attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts, West Indies. During that time he was president of SVECCS (Emergency & Critical Care Club) and student representative for the Hill’s Pet Food Company. He then attended the Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine for his clinical year before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in June 2010 and returning home to Carlisle. Justin also brought home an adorable lab/heeler rescue mix named Colbie and two adorable cats named Darby and Mac. His newest addition, Murray, is hard to miss! When he isn’t working, Justin’s interests include: training for triathlons (I am an Ironman!), running, skiing and music. His wife Jennifer is also a veterinarian in Harrisburg, PA. He and his wife just celebrated the birth of a new baby girl Annalie!

Barbara Strock, VMD

Dr. Barbara Strock’s interest in animals began at an early age when she grew up on a local dairy farm. She majored in biology at Lebanon Valley College and got her Veterinary degree from the University Of Pennsylvania. She has been practicing at the Carlisle Small Animal Veterinary Clinic since 1991. When she is not at the clinic, you can find her working in her garden or hiking through the woods.

Dr. Laura Liggitt, DVM

Dr. Laura attended York College of Pennsylvania for undergrad and majored in biology. She graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Laura grew up in Carlisle, Pa and went to Cumberland Valley High School. She enjoys being a vet because it is a profession that allows you to improve the lives of animals and people. In her spare times she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 dogs and cat. Her hobbies include horseback riding, running, and hiking.

Dr. Caitlin Ferry, DVM

Dr. Caitlin Ferry is a PA native, who graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 2005. She continued her education receiving a B.S. in Biology from Susquehanna University in 2010. After graduation, she worked as a technician for both an equine vet and small animal veterinarian until beginning vet school. Caitlin attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine located on the island of St. Kitts in the West Indies. Upon returning to the states with two new pets, a coconut retriever named Kealy and a cat named Sophia, she completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University Veterinarian School. In 2015 she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Dr. Ferry currently resides in Carlisle, PA. She lives with her husband Neil, two island pets, a horse named Goose and newest additions, a rescued Lab mix (Nate or Tater) and rescued cat (Patch). In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding and taking walks with her husband and dogs.
